Katie's Fashion Tips: JustOne Clutch

Preparing to go on vacation is a great excuse to play dress-up and figure out as many space-saving ways to pack and still look great. This JustOne Clutch is so soft and light, with pockets and a zipper on the inside, and can hold a passport, other identification, money and lipgloss perfectly. The pattern is fun too! And looks great in your hand with a stack of JustOne bracelets. I like to choose a lot of neutral coloured jewellery when travelling, with a few splashes of something bright, so that I can pack less and be able to mix and match easily when away. Katie and her husband have three young children that keep them active and enjoying life.  She...

Bryan's View: Gatwekera village

Note from Krista:  I may have spent time in Kibera Slums, but the truth is I don't know what it is like to live there. To grow up there. So we welcome Bryan - a lifelong Kibera resident - and his weekly posts to shed some light to what life is like in Kibera - written right from Kibera! This is where so much of our jewelry comes from - and as you read his posts weekly, I'm sure you will recognize why we are so passionate about empowering the men and women there through job creation! Thank you Bryan for sharing your insights through word and photos! I grew up in this village called Gatwekera, it extends from the South...

JustOne Person: Meaghan

Meaghan is an incredible person as she is a "do-er" - she sees a need, and she fills it. It has been an absolute joy to get to know her as she always encourages and inspires me! I love her attitude and generosity. She has this quote at the bottom of her emails by Mahatma Gandhi and I just love it:  “You may never know what results come of your actions, but if you do nothing, there will be no results.”  JustOne Introduction I have a heart for child welfare, social justice & seeing our world become a better place for all. I have a wanderers soul & love to travel & see the many gems our world has to offer including...

Not Just a Number

Confession time. I’m a nerd. And I listen to talk radio. A lot. Yesterday I had to do a fair amount of driving and so I had lots of time to listen in to my favourite talk radio station. All day there was one main story that everyone was talking about. Over and over. The Boston Marathon bombers trial as he was being convicted yesterday. You say “Boston Marathon Bombing” – and everyone knows exactly what you are talking about. That horrific tragedy two years ago where 3 people were killed and an estimated 264 others were injured. If I say “Garissa Attack” I’m not sure it has the same recognition. And it happened only one week ago. And an...

Sarah's Insights: We are all the same

She awakes to the sound of birds outside her window. The sun is starting to peek over the horizon. She is feeling slightly more rested than normal because her little one managed to stay in her own bed all night long. She stretches and feels the muscles in her back slightly ache. She rises and shuffles to the sink to wash up. Her husband has already left for work. She moves to the kitchen and begins to prepare breakfast. She starts some water for tea as well. Soon after she is nudging her children to wake up and get ready for school. Back in the kitchen, she can hear the normal morning disagreements. As the kids come to the table...
